August 29,2019:  15 days to go!  you ready for fun?  Reminder packet pickup is at Taos Mountain Outfitters on the plaza on Friday Sept 13th from 3-8pm.  We got tons of awesome fun stuff to give to you, first come first serve, so get here, get free stuff and chat about how much fun you are going to have on this amazing course!  BONUS !!!  We will have Santa Fean -Katie Arnold, Leadville 100 Champion, here from 5-6pm selling and signing her incredible book 'Running Home' !

Also, if you are still looking for lodging, The Blake Hotel at TSV is offering a great deal for all runners that weekend, so click on more/lodging tab and link on over to stay in their incredible luxury hotel.  They are just feet away from the AM Shuttle pickup, and if you call them after your race is done, they'll pick you up at the finish!!!

August 19, 2019:

LODGING DEALS:  Head on over to 'More>Lodging' tab for link to more hotels/condos offering deals in Taos Ski Valley Village and Taos race weekend!

 SHUTTLES:

Since the start/finish this year is at the Bavarian Restaurant/Lift 4 area at 10,000 feet, ALL RACERS MUST RIDE THE FREE SHUTTLE TO THE START.  It is a 10 minute ride, and we will have plush luxury shuttles to bring you and your family to the start.  There will be no parking available at the starting area, and you may be ticketed or towed if you leave your car parked on the road up there.  Best to arrive to the Taos Ski Valley Ski Resort Parking Lot an hour before your race start, and leisurely check-in for packet pickup or mandatory course check-in.  We are encouraging everyone to show to packet pickup Friday 13th at Taos Mountain Outfitters on the plaza from 3-8pm, so your race morning is casual, and so we can get started on time.  There will be an area at start/finish for your belongings, do not leave any valuables in your car.  Shuttles will pickup at the top of skier parking-there will be signs and people to direct you.  Again, do not attempt to drive to start, this likely will force you to be late to the race start, there will not be parking up there.

August 9th, 2019:  Packet pickup will be at Taos Moutain Outfitters on Taos Plaza on Friday September 13th from 3-8pm.  We will have lots of swag to give away, course maps, and happy to chat with you about what will be an amazing experience on course.  Also Friday night is PASEO-TAOS Street Art Festival in and around the plaza, so plan to enjoy that.  If you cannot make it Friday, you can packet pickup on Race Day Saturday 14th, but plan to show up 1 HOUR BEFORE your start so you are not rushed and we start on time.  *if you havent already, check out lodging deals at The Blake off the travel/lodging tab and likely next week will have more deals for other hotels in TSV.

July 31st, 2019:  Just updated hotel discount at The Blake Hotel at Taos Ski Valley for all racers and option to include discounted 32 oz. Oktoberfest beer steins!

Click on <More> tab in the menu, then <Lodging> to check it out.  Tell your friends, this race is the place to be this Fall for an awesome, beautiful, challenging course, incredible weekend, and post-race party!  Check out <Race Weekend> tab in menu for info.

July 28th, 2019:  47 days left, and just a few slots left before the raffle closes for the sweet SUUNTO BARO-9 GPS watch!  Click on Aid Station Tab for list of locations, and compare to the Half Marathon Map/Elevation profile Tab.  Full Marathon Map/Elevation map is being finalized within the week, but the Half Marathon is essentially the 2nd half of Kachina Peak Marathon.   Vibe is building, hope you are getting out and getting dirty!

June 29th, 2019:  Registration is heating up, and thanks to our sponsor Suunto, we are offering a raffle of a SUUNTO BARO-9 GPS watch, raffled off to one of the first 150 registered!  So, if you've been waiting and seeing how your training is going before signing up, now is the time--maybe you will win an awesome GPS watch ($600 value).

Also, keep in mind that WE ARE A CUPLESS RACE, meaning you need to bring your own vessel for aid stations (camelback, water bottle, soft flask, baggie) - this is our attempt to reduce our impact on the Earth.  We will also recycle all the energy-gu packets from the race that we have at aid stations!  Race hard and responsibly!

May 18th, 2019:  Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, we have had to make some changes to all race distances for 2019.  The 10-mile course was most affected, bringing it to a significantly longer distance.  As a result, we have made the decision to cancel the 10-mile race option - we are still offering the incredibly scenic Half Marathon and Full Kachina Peak Marathon with just some minor changes.   Rest assured, there are still plenty of jaw-dropping views, excellent sweet buttery singletrack, and interesting course-terrain to enjoy - so you will still have an awesome time!!!
